Support Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Parish

St Thomas Parish in Abiquiu has a rich history going back to the initial land grant given to the people living there in 1757.  The Parish has been the center of that community since that time.  It has been kept alive by the strong Catholic faith of the community.  There have always been outlying mission churches that have struggled to remain vital over the 300 years of existence.  When things need to be done in the seven historical churches in the Parish you will find the local community showing up for repairs, upkeep, celebration and decoration.

Currently the priest assigned to St Thomas must travel within a distance of over 50 miles to serve Mass throughout the week and on Sunday in mission churches ranging from Medanales to Gallina.

26.4% of the population in Rio Arriba County, NM live below the poverty line, a number that is higher than the national average of 13.1%.  It is getting harder each year to service and maintain this historical parish within the Santa Fe Archdiocese.  Your contribution to help continue this Parish’s vital service to the community and our historical traditions will be greatly appreciated.
